What's New?
ShortPoint Renews SOC 2 Report and Gains SOC 3 Report With No Exceptions
We are excited to announce a significant achievement in our ongoing commitment to security and compliance. We have successfully completed our SOC 2 Type 2 report renewal and, for the first time, obtained a SOC 3 report—both with no exceptions. These reports reflect the strength of our security controls and our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of trust and transparency.
The SOC 2 Type 2 report evaluates the effectiveness of our controls over an extended period, focusing on security, availability, and confidentiality. The SOC 3 report, which is based on the SOC 2 assessment, provides a high-level, publicly available summary of our controls, enabling us to showcase our commitment to security without disclosing sensitive details.
Achieving these reports with no exceptions is a testament to the rigorous measures we have in place to protect our customers and their data. This milestone reinforces our focus on delivering secure, reliable, and compliant solutions. Thank you for your continued dedication to upholding these standards!

Design Element of the Month: Image Carousel
Remember the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”? That’s exactly what ShortPoint’s Image Carousel Design Element does for your page! It combines images with short descriptions that give your users a snapshot of what they can expect to find on your SharePoint intranet.
Just think about it, Image Carousels can:
Organize Content on Your Page
Because everything is in one place, your users don’t have to search high and low for the information they need. At the same time, it saves you a ton of space.
Capture the Eye of Your Viewers
No user will be able to resist beautiful images! An Image Carousel with carefully crafted photos will catch your viewers’ eyes and even encourage them to stay and explore other pages on your intranet.
Improve User Experience
Scrolling through hundreds of content is a hassle! With Image Carousel, your users simply need to browse the slides to get what they need. And If they want more information, all they have to do is click the image—it's easy and convenient. If you haven't used it yet to showcase important announcements, news, and exciting events on your page, you're missing out on a powerful tool. To amp up your Image Carousel journey, we’ve compiled amazing tips that you can pair with the built-in features of the Image Carousel Design Element. Let’s dive in!
Scroll Multiple Items
Have lots of items on your Image Carousel? Clicking through them one by one is a hassle! To avoid this, we’ve created a useful code snippet that allows you to scroll through multiple items in a single click. Check out How to Scroll Multiple Items in an Image Carousel with a Single Click Using Custom JavaScript to learn how to do it.
Customize Text Colors
When you change the text color in the Image Carousel, you’ll discover that the color will change for both the title and the description. But, honestly, it can be a bit boring to have the same color. If you’re looking for something a little extra, go to How to Change Text Color for Image Carousel Design Element to learn how to add a splash of color to your Image Carousels.
Change Loop Speed
Are your Image Carousel transitions too fast or too slow for you? We got the perfect solution!

The Locations of ShortPoint
Location Spotlight is on Romania
Let's continue our journey across the globe and make our next stop in beautiful Romania! We're excited to chat with two of our talented colleagues based there: **Vlad Schiop**, who leads our Innovation Unit as Engineering Manager, and Serban Condrea, our Senior Front-End Developer. They'll share their experiences of working remotely and give us some insider tips about their fascinating country.
Serban began working remotely during the COVID pandemic. He works from a small village near Cluj-Napoca. On the other hand, Vlad's remote work adventure started in 2019 with an ambitious plan - he and his wife set out on what was meant to be a year-long travel experience. Though they managed to explore beautiful destinations like the Philippines, Malaysia, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka, their journey was cut short after two and a half months due to the pandemic. They've since found their home in the charming border town of Sighetu Marmației in Maramureș County.
Both Serban and Vlad have found that remote work offers invaluable benefits, particularly when it comes to time management and workspace flexibility. Serban recently made a game-changing move to a new house, where he's created what he calls his "optimal working zone" - a versatile room that serves as his office, gym, and occasional guest room. This dedicated space has been crucial in helping him maintain a healthy work-life balance. In fact, he's so comfortable with this setup that the thought of returning to a traditional office environment and dealing with daily commutes doesn't appeal to him at all. For Vlad, remote work represents the flexibility and balance. He cherishes being able to work from his preferred location each day, and especially values the extra time he can spend with his children and helping around home.
While both enjoy the flexibility of remote work, they acknowledge one common challenge: the social aspect. Serban manages this by regularly meeting friends when he feels the need for in-person interaction. For Vlad, as someone who thrives on human connection, the absence of office camaraderie is particularly noticeable. "I'm a people person, and sometimes I really miss the buzz of an office, being surrounded by colleagues, and those spontaneous chats over coffee," he shares. Despite this challenge, both have found ways to maintain social connections while enjoying the benefits of remote work.
When it comes to must-visit places in Romania, both of our colleagues have plenty of recommendations to share. “Maramureș is a hidden gem, full of natural beauty, rich history, and so many spiritual places. Since moving here, I’ve been amazed at how much there is to explore!”, Vlad states. The region offers several remarkable attractions and Vlad provides his personal descriptions of each one:
- The Horses' Waterfall – it’s breathtaking and perfect for nature lovers.
- Breb Village – it’s like stepping back in time, and a fun fact: King Charles used to visit often!
- Bârsana Monastery – it’s one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I’ve ever been to, with amazing wooden architecture.
For those seeking adventure, Serban recommends taking a road trip along the Transfagarasan, a spectacular mountain route. Beach lovers can choose between the lively atmosphere of Mamaia Resort or the untouched beauty of the Danube Delta, a paradise for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. To conclude our journey through Romania, Serban enthusiastically adds, "If you really want something unique, you can visit Transylvania and try to find Dracula. Just kidding, but Transylvania is a beautiful region to see with great cities like Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Brasov, Timisoara, and Oradea."
